I'm pissed.

Now I'm pissed. I understand why ValleyFair makes most of it's money on people who don't live in the Twin Cities. From places like North Dakota and Wisconsin. Anyone who has worked there or had kids that did, probably won't give them their money. I know I won't ever again. I have heard this from all the locals here when I mention that my daughter got a job there. My wife has heard about the terrible reputation they have in Minnesota HR associations. If I had known when I was first letting her take the job, she wouldn't have been allowed to.

So they start out by hiring all these people on the promise of a bonus if they stay the whole summer based on the number of hours they work. Then they work them all 70-80 hours a week in June, everything is peachy so far. They are warned of this. Then in July and August they start laying them off due to "overstaffing." Until all that are left are those paying them rent in their company owned dorms.

And that isn't the part that pisses me off. When the kid went in to get her paycheck straightened out, (They tried to rob her out of over half of it.) they were interviewing people to take the place of those they'd just laid off due to "overstaffing." That. Is. Just. Shit. And they are doing it all to keep from paying the bonus that would be rightfully owed to the kids. I didn't like it before, but now that place is dead to me. I will actively work to convince people not to go. As far as I know they don't break any laws, but damn, I don't have to reward their behavior by giving them my money. And since there are three of us, that would be $120 just to walk in the door. Not to mention the $4 sodas and the food that will cause you to choke. Just on price.

Grrr...

Later.
