A wet one

The lenses I rented for vacation arrived on Friday just before I left. But. The insurance on them does not cover water damage. So I didn't get to play with them much.

It was damp all weekend in the campground the mini family reunion I was at this weekend was held. Good thing the dogs were at my Mom's. We'd be smelling them for weeks. But we had fun. Chatted with folks we hadn't seen in about a year. Had way to many things to drink on Friday night as my uncle was trying his best to prove he could keep up with the younger kids and was forcing alcohol on others. Man it's hard to remember just how fast taking a few swigs off a bottle can mess you up when he keeps coming around. Woke up Saturday mildly hung over. Remembered at that point that I wasn't supposed to do that sort of thing anymore on the doctor's orders. Why do we always remember not to drink after we've had too much to drink?

Anyway. It seems that the damp we had was only the edge of what we had here at home. I checked the rain gauge when I walked in and it read 3.3 inches. Sounds like it happened on Saturday. Along with tornados close to here and power out and lighting starting fires. All sorts of crazy going on. We got rain, lots of rain, but just rain. Not even a tree branch down. So I'm happy.

And if it goes back to the dry weather that we had up until Saturday, I will be outside trying to get my kid to allow me to practice taking her photo before we are on site in Oregon. Less than two weeks to go.
